About Otra Cosa Network Otra Cosa Network (OCN) is a Peruvian non-profit NGO and UK Registered Charity (No.1133680) based in Northern Peru. Our mission is to promote social development and education in our local communities. We aim to offer support, education and greater opportunities for the children and adults in the local communities we serve, as well as life-changing experiences for our volunteers.
About the Role
OCN needs a new Marketing and Volunteering Manager to help run the organisation’s operations in Peru, under direction from the Peru-based "Programme and Operations Manager" and the UK-based Directors. The position is for a two-year period after which the position shall be reviewed, depending upon success in the role. We are in search of an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about international volunteering, marketing and community development. The new Manager needs to take on a wide range of responsibilities and work with the small local team in line with the organisation’s values, strategic goals and approach to sustainable community development.
As Marketing and Volunteering Manager, you would be responsible for leading our marketing and recruitment efforts (including being responsible for our website), managing and supervising volunteers in two of our HELP projects. You will develop, implement and deliver appropriate actions to achieve positive and measurable outcomes and opportunities for the Peruvian children & adults with whom we work and with the volunteers and interns who work with us. You will work under the guidance of the Programme and Operations Manager ensuring our volunteers are happy, supported and are working effectively to achieve positive results, managing our marketing operations, including our website, and leading on recruitment.
Marketing and Communications Management
?Leading and coordinating OCN’s marketing and communications
?Leading and coordinating OCN’s recruitment work for specific geographic regions
?Suggesting and implementing action plans for web and social media
?Suggesting and implementing action plans for marketing campaigns
?Supervising marketing coordinator or relevant interns
?Supervising marketing coordinator or interns in producing the quarterly newsletter
?Supervising marketing coordinator or interns in producing the Annual Report
?Supervising marketing coordinator or interns in managing website and SEO
?Supervising marketing coordinator in marketing research – develop and maximise marketing activities using Google Analytics, Google Adwords, etc
?Supervising volunteers, coordinators and interns to produce and post social media content
OCN Project Management
?Managing and/or supervising two of OCN’s HELP programmes, ensuring that they continue to develop and that they are monitored effectively
?Supervising two HELP coordinator(s) and/or the project volunteers
?Managing relationships with partner projects selected and managing volunteers who are on placement there
?Supervising the Volunteer Coordinator
?Supervising Social Media and Recruitment volunteers
?Recruitment & selection of volunteers for own projects, liaising with volunteer coordinator
?Keeping volunteers for own projects updated in the database
?Coordinating pre-arrival logistics for own volunteers in own projects
?Coordinating pickup and induction logistics in coordinators meeting
?Coordinating intro and exit interviews for volunteers in own projects, via coordinators meeting
?Ensuring welfare of volunteers during their stay, via coordinators meeting
?Noting action points in coordinators meeting and following up with Operations Manager and in OCN Skypes
?Offering weekend emergency assistance and backup on rota with other staff
?Developing regular trainings for volunteers on cultural and developmental topics, in coordinators meeting
?Organizing Project Tours every 3 months
?Supervising the Volunteer Coordinator and Social Secretary in organizing day trips, dinners and other activities such as civic reflections and teambuilding evenings
OCN Office Administration and Additional Tasks
?Coordination of volunteer database
?Admin of Whatsapp group and sling timetables for volunteers
?Compiling weekly dashboard reports on recruitment
?Ensuring that help youth and help women project finances are properly maintained, recorded and monitored
?Assisting with fundraising/grant researching and writing for help youth, help women and core funding
?Updating hola hojas in Spanish or English for own projects
?Taking minutes at weekly team meeting, in rotation with other staff members
?Production of quarterly report segments for own projects
?Ensuring that volunteer accommodation is arranged and liaising with accommodation partners
?Managing maintenance issues in the Volunteer House and paying bills
?Enforcing the house rules and housing maintenance, including in-house evening and weekend presence when the Programme and Operations Manager is away.
?Managing relationship with leads with volunteer agencies
?Managing relationships with external volunteer housing providers
?Managing relationships with assigned partner projects
?Creating new relationships with institutions, universities and platforms in specific geographic regions
?Managing relationships with owner / directors of premises where your projects are based
