The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour).
Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.Job SummaryIn this role, you will report to the Head of Personnel, Compensation, Representative, Labor Relations Manager or Personnel Services Manager in the payroll process for the benefit of the project.
Perform the functions of labor compensation on construction projects under the Civil Construction Regime and General Regime, work on a project and/or within a Shared Services environment.
Interact with the areas of site administration, finance, accounting, payroll and the systems development teams.
Ensure that labor compensation activities within Industrial Relations are in compliance with company and site policies/procedures and legal requirements.Major ResponsibilitiesPlanning the processes, resources and executing the compensation tasks ex officio, including, but not limited to, the control of schedules, the monitoring of attendance, the investigation of salaries and benefits, the verification of the accuracy of payment concepts, the investigation of payment discrepancies, and more.Working with the representatives of the legal department on pending legal actions arising from disputes over wages/salaries/employment benefits.
Providing the necessary documentation and serve as a witness when required.Ensuring compliance with Bechtel's policies and practices and Workforce Services.Keeping abreast of labor laws and related legislation applicable to construction workers/general scheme and their compensation.Participating in Workforce Services staff planning and development by conducting performance evaluations for subordinate staff, recommending salary measures and reassignments, and interviewing and recommending job applicants.Establishing communication plans to ensure that employees are kept informed of any changes that may affect them.Collaborating with the Project Workforce Development Manager to ensure there is a robust training program on time management or civil construction and general regime payroll items that require training.Leading the overall development and compensation strategy to ensure salaries are paid in a timely manner, in conjunction with Bechtel Business Services and other functions.Providing advice and guidance to construction services and workforce managers on issues related to compensation or time management.Contributing to the preparation of the salary bulletins of the projects.Education And Experience RequirementsRequires bachelor's degree in Management, Human Resources, Accounting, Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Construction Management or related, and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge And SkillsPrevious experience directly related to the compensation of the Civil Construction Regime and General Regime.Proven experience in directly directing compensation or timing activities to execute the organizational goals of RL.Experience in drafting offsets ex officio in direct contracting construction projects.Extensive knowledge of labor and employment laws.
Knowledge of Bechtel's legal procedures in handling claims arising from labor disputes.Extensive knowledge of labor recruitment in Peru, wage and hour laws, trade unions and relations with collaborators.Previous compensation experience in large construction/mining projects (preferred).Experience with Monthly Payroll or PLAME in the Civil Construction Regime and Common Regime.Experience with payroll requirements on construction projects.Familiarity with the concepts of payroll in civil construction.Ability to plan, map and analyze a timing and compensation cycle.Experience with Microsoft Visio (preferred).Experience with SAP as a payroll system and/or HRIS.Intermediate oral and written English level (preferred).Experience as a Bechtel partner or JV, as well as knowledge of the construction practices carried out by Bechtel (desirable).Total Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of engineers and beyond!
