Our goal is to recruit, develop, and retain people who share our vision and strategy.The Principal Geotechnical Engineer position is a full-time role within Advisian's Geoscience Practice, primarily focused on the national and international mining sector.
Experience in diverse infrastructure projects is highly desirable.Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:Support the development and implementation of geoscience strategies aligned with divisional and regional plans.Develop business, secure work, support bid teams with presentations, negotiations, proposals, and cost/schedule estimates.Provide geotechnical expertise on mining projects, including tailings strategies, dam safety, mine infrastructure, and geological site reconnaissance.Offer geotechnical knowledge on water retention structures, bridges, tunnels, and complex foundations.Lead advanced laboratory analysis, geotechnical design, seismic and liquefaction assessments, and risk evaluations.Mentor junior staff, manage staffing needs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Travel nationally and internationally as required.Ensure safety, quality, and procedural compliance across projects.Lead client meetings, deliver presentations, and prepare industry reports as needed.Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in civil/geotechnical engineering or equivalent, with ongoing education.Registered professional engineer with at least 12 years of geotechnical experience in mining, including infrastructure and tailings structures.Proven ability to develop business, support bids, and prepare proposals and cost estimates.Experience working in multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.Strong client engagement and relationship management skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of leading teams and projects.Experience with field investigations, mentoring, and staff development.Knowledge of industry-standard project management and quality systems is a plus.Worley offers an excellent remuneration and benefits package, a friendly and professional work environment, and opportunities for career development.
