Overview

Building on our past. Ready for the future

Worley is a general professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia.

Right now, we're bridging two worlds as we accelerate to more sustainable energy sources, while helping our customers provide the energy, chemicals and resources that society needs now.

We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their portfolio of assets. We solve complex problems by finding integrated data-centric solutions from the first stages of consulting and engineering to installation and commissioning, to the last stages of decommissioning and remediation. Join us and help drive innovation and sustainability in our projects.

Purpose

This role is suited to a senior professional with a strong process engineering background and demonstrated experience leading front-end studies for mining and mineral processing projects. The Study Manager will lead multi-discipline studies from concept through Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility levels, ensuring that technical work is fully integrated with cost, schedule, risk, and permitting considerations. The role requires a strong client focus and the ability to manage studies as investment decision tools, not just technical deliverables.

Responsibilities

- Lead and manage mineral processing and mining-related studies from Scoping through PFS/FS, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are met.
- Act as the single point of accountability for study execution, scope control, and integration across disciplines.
- Establish study strategies, manage critical path schedules, and ensure timely delivery of decision-ready outputs.
- Lead regular reviews of study progress, budgets, resources, and risks, addressing issues proactively.
- Provide senior oversight of process engineering and metallurgical inputs,
ensuring assumptions are realistic, consistent, and fit for study maturity.
- Integrate process design with mining, infrastructure, tailings, water, environmental, and permitting inputs.
- Coordinate internal subject matter experts and external specialists or technology providers, as required.
- Ensure that study outcomes are technically robust and aligned with industry best practices.
- Lead the integration of technical outputs into CAPEX, OPEX, and economic models.
- Support evaluation of alternative development options and trade-offs to maximize project value.
- Ensure that studies clearly articulate value drivers, risks, and sensitivities to support informed investment decisions.
- Maintain a strong client focus, understanding client objectives and ensuring study outcomes meet expectations.
- Lead technical workshops, option selection sessions, and study reviews with clients and internal leadership.
- Support business development activities in a seller–doer capacity, including proposal preparation and client engagement.
- Ensure that study risks, assumptions, and uncertainties are clearly identified and communicated.
- Comply with internal quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.
- Support internal and external reviews, audits, and assurance processes.
