The Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled System Administrator for Applications (OpenShift/AWS) to assist in managing, configuring, and securing a hybrid IT infrastructure that spans both on-premises and cloud environments. This role has direct interaction with other teams, working together to deploy new components, implement the appropriate monitoring points for the new releases, create and maintain the respective runbooks to secure operations with peers. This role also has critical participation in the review, preparation, and use of new technology moving into production environments.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the installation, configuration,
and maintenance of application software across both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
2. Collaborate with senior team members to deploy and release updated versions of software applications.
3. Support the organization of installations and updates in compliance with Change Control policies.
4. Help develop and maintain application configurations and contribute to runbook documentation.
5. Evaluate and apply patches as needed under the guidance of senior staff.
6. Research and suggest tools or technologies to address business needs in hybrid infrastructures.
7. Monitor system performance and respond to potential issues in a timely manner.
8. Review system audit logs and escalate findings to the appropriate team members.
9. Provide technical support to the IT Operations team to improve workflows and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Technical or Bachelor's degree in Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Intermediate English proficiency.
3. Experience working with Linux Operating Systems.
4. Experience with container technologies such as OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes.
5. Experience managing AWS services or similar cloud technologies.
6. Experience with supporting Java applications in enterprise environments.
7. Hands-on experience with application servers like Apache Tomcat or Oracle Application Server.
8. Experience in scripting with Bash or Python for administrative tasks.
9. Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
