Technical Writer

We are looking for a Technical Writer to be part of the technical documentation team**Position Overview**:The role will involve creating the Niagara product user manuals and online help for all Niagara Networks products and solutions.**Responsibilities**:Create user-friendly documentation and online helpDevelop the initial online help framework for multiple deliverables from scratchCreate video clip tutorials for software configuration proceduresIndependently deliver Hardware Quick Start Guides, User Guides, Installation Guides, Release Notes, and Online Help for multiple productsEstimate the working time required to complete a taskCollaborate with other technical writers and cross-functional teams (primarily software engineering, quality assurance, and product marketing) to produce high-quality, accurate, and concise customer documentation**Competencies**:Excellent writing skills in the English language.Extensive and proven experience with Microsoft WordExperience with Adobe RoboHelp or MadCap Flare Help Authoring Tools**Graphical editing**: PaintShop Pro, Photoshop, OmniGraffle, or a similar graphics package**Video capture software**: Camtasia, ScreencastBasic HTML, and CSS editing skillsExperience creating single-sourcing documentation for multiple deliverable types (online help, pdf, word, etc.)**Competencies (plus)**:Adobe InDesign or a similar desktop publishing toolGraphical design knowledgeKnowledge of networking technologies (such as firewalls, routers, VLANs, and switches), network security, and experience writing for network administratorsFamiliar with the Zendesk customer support platform
