For more information on Helmsley, helmsleytrust.Position SummaryEssential**Responsibilities**:Financial Accounting and ReportingWork closely with CFO on daily operations and projects.Support the development and administration of and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.Lead and assist staff in improving effectiveness in processes.Provide research and analytical support to senior management and/or outside consultants, as necessary.Prepare reports and surveys requested by membership organizations, regulatory agencies, and others.Analyze technical accounting implications of special transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP.GrantsWorks with Grants Management team to ensure grant and PRI payments made accurately and timely.Ensure timely and accurate recording of grants expense/payable, grant modifications, and grant refunds.Review and ensure grants payable aging and PRI receivables balances are correct.Program Related Investments (PRI) AccountingManage the Finance Department's accounting responsibilities for Program Related Investments.Perform the annual US GAAP accounting for credit losses review of the PRI Portfolio.Attend the PRI Committee meetings in representing the Finance Department.Prepare the audited financial statement footnote disclosures.ManagementManage direct and non:direct staff for the execution of various initiatives resulting in high:performance teams.Desired QualificationsBachelor's Degree required in accounting or related field; CPA required.Knowledge of GAAP, FASB, GAAS covering private foundations.Minimum 5 years within the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors.Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and spreadsheet analysis and enterprise:wide general ledger systems.Experience with the systems NetSuite, UKG Pro, Concur, and Fluxx a plus.Thrives in a team environment, effective at building and maintaining collaborative relationships, and positively contributes to the organizational culture.Strong verbal, written communication and analytical skills.Strong attention to detail and a firm commitment to meeting deadlines.Ability to work independently, handle and prioritize multiple time:sensitive activities; excellent judgment and problem solving.Achieve trusted:advisor status by displaying accounting and business expertise.Comfort presenting internally and at external conferences to highlight Helmsley's brand as a thought leader.Salary, Health, Well:being, and Living Our Mission
