This role reports directly to the VP of Marketing and leads all communications efforts at Percona.What You Will DoEstablish and execute a compelling PR strategy in conjunction with senior leadership across departments at Percona including product, partner, sales, community, and peopleDevelop relationships and work across the organization to effectively organize and execute awareness initiativesManage our PR agency relationship, strategy, and budgetDirect the output of our external PR agency including placed articles, blog postsCollaborate closely with product marketing and growth marketing to create /influence original content:including editing and proofreadingCreate ongoing outreach to strengthen and develop media relationships and other opportunities to amplify Percona's brand and market recognitionSeek new and creative ways to influence media and share the company story/directionIdentify and prepare the best Percona spokesperson for each press opportunity, ensuring they are aligned around a unified message.Thought leadership writing to help build company awareness across our marketEventually, build out a small team of communications professionalsReport on quarterly PR resultsWhat You Have Done8+ years of experience that includes PR agency and/or in:house communications roles (in:house preferred)Experience working as an individual contributor and managing small teams at a high growth technology companyDemonstrated ability to understand and succinctly communicate the capabilities and benefits of a complex product or serviceExpertise in media relationship management and track record of securing top:tier global placementsExcellent writing, communication, and storytelling skillsPercona is a respected thought leader in the open source community.
