In this new facility we are currently establishing Research and Development department to develop, optimize and characterize protein production processes from the laboratory phase to the large scale. For our R and D Department we are currently looking for a Specialist in Downstream Process Development.In this position you will join a team of scientists focused on the development and characterization of downstream processes in R and D department**Responsibilities**:Planning and execution of laboratory scale studies for the purpose of development and optimization of protein purification steps, includingchromatography, filtration and membrane separationsDocumented observations, analyzes of data, reporting of results and conclusions for each experimentalstudyTroubleshooting activities and deviations assessmentAssessing improvements in DSP setupOptimization of the process with regards to technical as well as its economic aspectsEvaluation of external suppliers of resins, filter membranes, disposable materials etc.Supporting GMP manufacturing through process investigations and during process transferDesign and execution of experiments based on DoE approachCollaboration with USP, Analytical and Pilot Plant departments in order to achieve optimal resultsSupporting and coordinating work of junior team members in their assigned tasksIf you haveUniversity degree in Biotechnology or related disciplinesExperience with TFF and normal:flow filtration is a plusStrong understanding of protein chromatographyProven ability to work independently in hands:on laboratory settingExperience in handling lab scale chromatography systems (such as ÄKTA systems) is requiredAnalytical skills and knowledge of spectrophotometric methods is desiredExperience with writing technical development or scientific reports/publicationsBasic knowledge of GMP standards is a plusGood knowledge of spoken and written English
