The Opportunity:
The English as a Foreign Language (EFL) program for our children at Immersion English Institute is a company that focuses on pronunciation. Based on this, teachers work with our English Language Learners (ELLs) to build language capacity in a fun, engaging way.
Principal Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
- Establish efficient classroom management procedures.
- Must respond to our clients’ assignments daily.
- Continually evaluate and record various aspects of students’ progress and report to parents as needed and required.
- Understand and plan lessons leading to subject area objectives and assume the responsibility for substitute lesson plans.
- Regular and punctual attendance is required for this position.
- Although this is a remote position, you'll need to meet with your students in person for oral presentations on our picnic day once a month.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must have excellent pronunciation in spoken American English.
- Conversational and educational skills in designated language and English.
- Flexibility and adaptability to personalized instruction, small-group classes, or individualized one-on-one instruction.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Being Familiar with the ‘class dojo’ app is a plus.
- Assess student learning using appropriate methods of in-class instruction and outside class.
- Sincere care and concern for students’ well-being and academic progress are highly important for this position.
- Excellent communication skills and experience dealing with demanding parents.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress; provide feedback for each oral assessment and advise students regarding progress.
- Effectively resolves student concerns or complaints.
- Strong organizational skills; attentive to detail; well-developed verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people in an academic setting; demonstrated creative thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience.
- Ability to smile. (It is a must)
- Excellent communication skills and well-versed in written and spoken English.
- A daily available time block of at least 3 hours, between 6 pm -7:30 pm, or Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays.
- Ability to work a part-time schedule of 6 hours per week.
- Ability to smile is a must!
You must have a quiet workplace, a laptop/desktop computer with a decent internet connection (40 Mbps or more), and an over-the-ear headset with a microphone to be considered for this position.
Must have a dual-core processor, core i3 or core i5 or higher, to be considered for the position.
