The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a professional to join the agency as a Senior Media Services Technician to deliver quality support and technical services advice to Museum staff and customers.The Senior Media Services Technician will work with a small team of technical officers providing a high level of customer service and will be responsible to taking the lead on more complex technical matters.**The Senior Media Services Technician will**:- monitor and manage warranties, licenses and related documentation for the audio-visual media infrastructure- assist the Team Leader in managing the scheduling and management of servicing, repairs and event bookings and operation of related museum equipment.**The key duties of the position include**:- demonstrated experience in technical services and the operation and supervision of audiovisual technology.- an interest in the evolving technologies and be capable of undertaking complex audio installations.- an ability to be flexible, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines is essential.- experience generating quotations for technical events and forecasting services and equipment requirements is necessary.They will also have demonstrated capability to identify and resolve complex technical problems.This position will work a 7 hour 45 minute day on a 7 day roster and working some weekends on a rotation basis.**Selection Criteria**- Demonstrated experience in managing services for events using audio and visual equipment.- Demonstrated experience designing, selecting and configuring multimedia devices to meet client requirements.- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and manage activities and projects and achieve outcomes.- Sound written and verbal communication, negotiation and presentation skills, including the ability to manage conflict and build relationships and prepare technical and project documentation.- Demonstrated customer service experience.- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a member of a team.- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex technical problems.**Eligibility**- be an Australian citizen- undergo a number of pre-employment checks, which includes a police records check**Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and those from culturally diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
